Certification of Airfilters
UL900 Flammability Certification
The UL 900 standard covers the requirements to determine the quantity of smoke generated and the combustibility of air filter units . The test is carried out on the unused filters, since the type of and level of particle loading greatly impacts flammability and smoke generation. In order to get a specific air filter unit product certified, the manufacturer applies for a file number and then the product is tested in accordance with the UL 900 standard. If all UL 900 requirements are met, the product is listed as a UL 900 certified product.
Once the air filter product is listed, it is incorporated into the follow-up service for quarterly inspections at each manufacturing location, to verify that the process and the materials is not straying from what is listed in the UL file.
Greenguard Low VOC-emitting Certification
The Greenguard Certification ensures that a product has met some of the world's most rigorous and comprehensive standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into indoor air. VOC emissions from building materials and furnishings is a major source of indoor air pollution and the Greenguard certification program is intended to be used as a classification tool to help identify low-emitting products, and to provide manufacturers with credible tools to legitimize and promote their sustainability efforts.
Dust class according to DIN EN 60335-2-69 appendix AA
Filter media used in dust removal machines is tested according to the SBM dust class DIN EN 60335-2-69 appendix AA. The maximum degree of penetration decides whether a filter material is classified as an L, M or H class.
