EPA, HEPA and ULPA Filters

Viledon EPA, HEPA and ULPA filters, produced with our patented thermal embossing process or in minipleating technique, are available in filter classes E10 to U15. In the thermal embossing process, a complementary pair of rolls simultaneously embosses conical dimples and the subsequent pleat tips into a heated micro-glassfibre paper. The glassfibre paper contains a thermoplastic bonder, which becomes fluid during the embossing process and then hardens again, fixing the embossed structures in the paper. The embossed dimples create the spaces between the pleats in the finished pleat pack, i.e. after pleating the filter medium keeps itself spaced. The optimised V-shaped pleat geometry ensures homogeneous air passage and low-turbulence downstream air flow with low pressure drops even at high volume flows. In the minipleating technique, thin hotmelt threads serve for fixing and spacing the pleats.
From Filter Class H13, quality is assured by individual testing of each filter using an oil-thread or a leading-edge scan test rig. The filter elements can be manufactured in one piece in widths of up to 1,220 mm and lengths of up to 1,830 mm, with pleat depths of up to 100 mm (minipleating technique) or up to 280 mm (embossing technique). They are available in numerous different versions, corrosion-proof, easy to install, and eco-compatible to dispose of.
As a special innovation, we offer EPA/ HEPA filters with frames and protection grids made of plastic. The patented frame design combines crucial product advantages: Plastic-framed EPA/ HEPA filters are not only very stable, microbiologically safe, moisture-resistant and lightweight, but also fully incinerable. They meet the hygiene requirements for HVAC systems, and their suitability for cleanrooms up to Cleanliness Class 2 according to ISO 14644-1 (Class 0.1 to US Fed.Std. 209) was tested and certified by the German Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation, IPA.
